I’ve been thinking about how much road transport in India has changed over the last decade, especially with all the highway projects, expressways, and better connectivity between cities. It feels like transport has become faster and more organized—but has it really improved efficiency across the board? On one hand, initiatives like wider highways, bypasses, and dedicated freight corridors (connected via roads) have definitely reduced travel time. Routes that used to take 2–3 days can now often be completed much faster. For businesses relying on logistics, this has made a noticeable difference in delivery timelines and fuel consumption. Another big factor is technology. The rise of the transport booking app ecosystem has made it easier to find trucks, compare prices, and track shipments in real time. Combined with better roads, this seems to be improving overall logistics efficiency, especially for small and medium businesses that didn’t previously have access to organized transport networks. However, there are still challenges:

Uneven road quality in rural regions
Driver shortages and compliance issues
